Account Executive - Sales (pro bowler)

Position located in Chicago

Account Executives make up Meebo's outside sales team and act as the face of the company to the advertising community. Through in-person meetings with advertisers and their agencies, AEs initiate, negotiate, and manage deals that drive revenue for Meebo. Accountable by nature, they also have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, a drive to exceed established goals, and an ability to work closely with internal teams to get things done. We are looking for experienced sales individuals with established client relationships and a hankering to forge new ones, so that we can increase awareness about Meebo within the advertising, media, and marketing community.

How you'll contribute:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key agencies and clients in the entertainment, consumer electronics, telecom, CPG, auto, and other relevant categories

• Define territory strategy to ensure sustainable growth and client development

• Support Meebo's growth by driving revenue for an assigned territory through face-to-face client/agency meetings

• Help shape a customer-centric sales organization that embodies candor and integrity

• High volume of face-to-face meetings that develop a strong sales presence and drive business in an assigned territory

• Increase awareness about Meebo within the advertising, media, and marketing community by evangelizing the efficacy of our platform and capabilities

• Regular account updates and revenue forecasting to management

• Negotiate deals with the client/agency community that embody a win-win framework

• Collaborate with Meebo's Inside Sales and Product Marketing teams to set sales strategy and build customer-centric advertising programs

• Effective management of Inside Sales team member(s)

Requirements:

• Client-focused approach, with good judgment about ad programs that will engage users

• Understanding of technical requirements and opportunities within web media

• Extensive network within the agency, brand, and sales community

• Steeped in pop culture and digital media used by our users and clients

• Flexibility, patience, and a roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic

• Strong ethical standards

• Bachelor's degree (graduate degree a plus)

• 3-5 years demonstrated sales success (online consumer media sales preferred)

• Limited travel

• Meebo exceeds revenue goals

• Ensure that ad programs are relevant, engaging, and well received by our users and marketers

• Secure a strong renewal business—increase in spending per client over time

• Ability to work collaboratively with sales partners, product marketing, and other internal teams

• Creative, proactive, organized, and authentically passionate
